2008 sets new standard for mobile phones with the emergence of 8 megapixel line-up, that's more than expected from a phone. If 8 megapixel is not enough for you, 2009 promises you better deals. Sony Ericcson, one of the renowned phone manufacturers, is planning to raise the bar to a new height with the introduction of 12 megapixel cameraphone. The upcoming phone should be the successor of Sony Ericsson C905, codenamed Shiho, which is equipped with an 8.1 MP camera together with all features required high quality photography.

The next Sony Ericsson phone in the line codenamed Kokura will based on TI3240 chipset, Symbian 9.4 S60 OS and will have touchscreen interface similar to iPhone andthe Tube.

This 12 MP Camera Phone is said to have a design resemblance to Sony Ericsson C905 and is expected to be in the market by the 2nd half of 2009. Design wise, it should be thinner and slimmer in line with the current trend. It is also rumoured that this phone will have a 800 x 480 WVGA display support, CD quality audio performance, and high resolution video support including Mobile TV.

Though this news remains as a rumor as just yet, but with all technologies the parent company, Sony, has up its sleeves, the said device is possible to be materialized.

With 2008 is drawing near to the end, 2009 will come with lot of anticipations from Sony Ericsson.
